Venetian Plaster is an acronym for the ancient technique used to apply stuccoed plaster coatings. It is actually a modern term. Venetian plaster, also called lime plaster, is a mixture of fired limestone, marble dust and water. It can appear like real marble once the surface has had its surface burnished. It is the same material used by our ancestors to create their ancient Egyptian or Greek tombs. It has stood the test and survived both physically, as well.

Stong, Durable and Flexible
Polished plaster can be used in all rooms of the house including bathrooms and kitchens. Wetrooms are feature walls, swimming pool walls and hallways.
Another benefit of Venetian plaster is its durability and low maintenance. Venetian mortar is nearly as flexible in application as paint. In the past, Venetian plaster was difficult to repair and required the entire wall to be replastered. But, it is now possible to fix small marks and blemishes on the spot or wipe them off.

Marmorino Plaster
This plaster, or stucco-decorative, is used to decorate walls. It was popularised in Venice’s Renaissance period of 500 years ago. Its antibacterial, waterproof, and visual effects make it a popular choice when designing luxury bathrooms or other wet areas. It is not restricted to interior use. Many buildings can see it outside to great effect.
This finish is highly sought-after and is made from fine marble powders, lime ty, and other materials. A stucco mixture is a finely mixed micro-marble. You can create other effects with this plaster, in addition to the classic marble effect.
It is non-toxic, and does not emit VOC’s. It is also breathable and allows moisture escaping from the substrate.
Manchester Venetian Plaster
Venetian plaster can be applied loosely using a spatula or a trowel. It isn’t like multi-finish plasters which are applied in straight lines. The swirls add depth and texture to your surface, instead of giving it a flat or rigid finish. Apply layers and finish by polishing it with a wax coat.
This finish is very popular in Greater Manchester and is frequently used by top architects. It can be left as-is or sealed and waxed.
Venetian Plaster, an ancient surface treatment, has made a comeback to modern houses. It is most commonly used for interior walls, ceilings, and other purposes. It has the same multi-toned effect as natural stone but does not require you to lug or set up heavy slabs.
